Overhyped

It's not really that great, I was expecting a little more than what it was. I will give you points because many people have done movies in regards to the flash portal, but I don't think anyone has done anything on the audio portal.
Also, I hate that song - It grates on my nerves every time I go to the audio portal.

Awe Inspiring

This is my 300th review. For this milestone, I wanted to review a video that I thought greatly of, but had overlooked reviewing. I started searching my flash favorites list for one of them that I hadn't reviewed yet, only to discover that I overlooked reviewing the flash at the top of the list. MoreLIkeBlue.

Every so often there comes a flash video that changes the way I think about flash design. The last for me was Bonus Stage (which I'm not sure if you're familiar with), it inspired me and the style of design and humor shows up in my work.

If feel the same about this... it just makes me want to scrap what I was doing and try to see the world from its creative perspective, and try to match it in my own work.

The Artwork is just beautiful. The humor is broken into a skit style of comedy, which is executed in a way no other has attempted. The music and atmosphere are also stellar, especially the opening sequence.

There is one small thing that bothered me though. At one point, when they are in the elevator, the girl's shirt is backwards for one shot. It's an easy mistake to make, one which I have made, yet no one's called me on. I just had to tell you cause I'm not sure anyone else had pointed it out.

Anyhow, it's just wonderful, the sequels thus far are great too, but this is the one that define as groundbreaking.

Thanks,
Mike

over a year later, Im responding to some reviews. The freezepop shirt thing was on purpose..not sure w hy I did it, but I figured any detail I could add would count for something. Thanks for the great review, it reminds me I have an unnatural support here at ng.

Bring it on.

Looking forward to it. It seems that more and more flash artists endevoring in long projects. I'm impressed that you reigned in Leslie Neilsen. You better call him Shirly in the movie - that joke better be there! This is officially the most impressive celeb that's lent their voice to flash work...Randy Savage being in second place.

Bound For Greatness

Amazing art. Really what I look for (and wish I could duplicate) in a great flash cartoon. I remember the trailer from back in the summer, which the style looks different from the trailer, but I do understand that you made the trailer trying to perfect how you wanted things to look. Well, it seems like you have a well throught-out series on the way. I'm really looking forward to it.

Oh, and I love the song, I'll probably buy it later, the band should be paying you commission for this, I'm sure I'm not the only one digging it.

Creative

I found it funny that you gave yourself a screenplay credit for a video under thirty seconds with no dialog. I liked it though. Could have had some sound effects - maybe the next one could be longer - I see a bit of potential in makign a serires out of this.

"Smile that perfect smile, made by computers."

In under a minute you managed to sum up the entire pop music industry. Give kuddos to your GF for me, she's got an amazing voice. If I had use for her vocal talents I'd certainly pick her to do the vocal work. Everything about this is wonderful. I've watched it like five times today. I hope you win the contest - I'll certainly give you a vote.

Brilliant Marketing Strategy!

Great lead-in to the movie. I'm ready for it. You've spent the last few months pumping me up for it and now I'm sold. I'm excited for the DVD now. Great Job...on not just this one, but all of them! I'm sad that I'll have to wait till late July for another. I'm so used to getting my monthly fix.

DarkMazeStudios responds:

Thanks! And it's worth mentioning that something will be taking its place in the intervening months -- keep an eye out on the PressStartMovie.com blog!

One Night in Lipton...lol

That was pretty creative. It was strangely entertaining and I thought it was pretty well done, though your score doesn't reflect it the way it should. Tom must have liked it though, since you got front page. Congrats to that.

Very Nice

You've got some badass shape tweening abilities. Loved the song and the atmosphere it created. Good job all around.

Never wrestle in the mud with a pig. You'll get filthy and the pig will enjoy it.
