That was a short trip

I like the name. I am Mike the Mallow.

It was short but not much else to complain about.

ChilliDog responds:

Haha, thanks!
I'm actually a fan of your work, it's great to be reviewed by you!

Warthog, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for the full version. When is it coming out? I see here it's on your website...ok5studios.com? That's too many words to type in, post it here so I can review it and give it tens and fives. Also, the F.U. series rocks. Tell you friend to release F.U.3. dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, you said gay too much.

lupedog responds:

I think D is a homophobe...and ZEXY!!!

As far as FU3, I think we will finnish it some day, I think the launch is DEC now.

It Could Have All Been Yours

I'm still a little disappointed - in the fact that if you had used your own characters rather than Mario characters that this could have been entirely your own property, and it would have been kick-ass all the same.
Your work is getting better, though I'm getting tired of seeing episodes that the only purpose is to set up the next episode. It's mostly infuriating. That being said, I can't wait to see the next one.

MeltingFishStudios responds:

Hooray! Constructive criticism!

Yes, You are correct, rockymike; this could have been all mine, but it was my final decision when this property was conceived well around 10 years ago. Whilst I was creating it, I was very well aware that this was not entirely original, and somebody such as yourself would point that out. Thank you! To counteract this, I am already thinking of releasing a more original property, similar in vein to this series, but with everything all my own. (In fact, the original IP is already made! I just have to make a series, so stay tuned!)

Oh, and the 'set-up' episodes? I am sorry to say, that it's just my current style (as much as viewers mostly don't like 'set-ups' or 'cliffhangers'. As a result, this series won't be for everyone...). It's there to leave the audience wanting more.

Like you said 'I can't wait to see the next one'.

Thanks for your insightful comment!

killer

I always find your work hilarious and entertaining. If you could just up the artwork I think you could be a premier artist. I always love the voice work too. Keep it up.

Popsey responds:

Thanks as always it's good to hear from you. I'll keep it up and I'm looking forward to F.U. 3! Thanks again.

Good song, good video.

I've always loved this song and had hoped someone would do something with it. I enjoyed your artwork and some of the visual effects were nicely done. As far as the theme goes, it was a pretty literal interpretation. My take on the song was always more about how it dealt with death and confussion yet was juxtaposed with a very happy-go-lucky tune. I imagined him hopping along his merry way without much concern at first, but grows more fearful as he goes along. That's just my vision of it though, so you don't lose points at all. I guess I"m biased having seen the video for it - plus the Wizard of Oz may factor in there somewhere as well. Overall, it was a well produced flash.

cheshirecat1582 responds:

Thanks! Yeah I can see that now... Your take is actually more interesting... I wish I would have thought of that before... anyways thanks sooo much for the great review!!!
I wasn't thinking of wizard Of Oz when I was doing it... But when people said it looked kinda like it I was surprised that it did look like i meant it to be... Its weird... Must have been subliminal messages... I was watching OZ a few months before I made this...

Not Bad

It was enjoyable but has so much more potential than what you gave it. Revamp that for next year.

Erreip199 responds:

>=P ill exploit its potencial on the next one

I respond to all reviews. Even if it gets 1000....

So much good artwork wasted on something that was so poorly executed. The voice acting was awful and the characters were stale and uninteresting. I wasn't entertained by the plot either. I struggled to get through the whole thing.

***I respond to all reviews. Even if it gets 1000 reviews, I will respond to them all.***

Your a little behind on that as well.

The only positive is that the artwork was really good. It was the only thing that got me through.

BaconMask responds:

I work full time bro, and I have been responding every night when I get home. Sorry it aint your cup of tea.

Clever

I got to tell you, that was pretty good. There was a few minor things that I didn't like, like your use of gradients in the background. Also, in the begining when he goes down the street and goes in front of a lamp pole when he should have gone behind it. One layer could have made a difference there. Those little things just make a flash all the better. It was very clever though. I would certainly recommend it to the Pac Man collection.

CcXD responds:

to be honest, i completely forgot about it LOL, i will fix that sometime today.
the reason i used the gradient its to kind of simulate the maze environment. But again thanks for the review, anything is useful.

Did you know?

Did you know that they make mention of this video in the May 2007 edition of EGM?!?!? (If you get it, it's on page 18, with a screenshot and commentary)

This was a great tribute. The only thing I was hoping for was that you made a parody when they're on the helicopter about how all you need to do to kill enemies there is push them out the chopper door.

rebaz responds:

WTF? WJAT WATSDGDF !!!?
what dude? i dont know what EGM is i live all the way in europe, i dont know the shortcur either =(, please PM me about this shit dude, i need to know DD means Boner,

mehh i wanna make a spoof out of that one, i realy hated that lvl, when i fall out of that, i restarted my Nes
i hate falling out of the CHOPPER GET DOWN, lol

Awe Inspiring

This is my 300th review. For this milestone, I wanted to review a video that I thought greatly of, but had overlooked reviewing. I started searching my flash favorites list for one of them that I hadn't reviewed yet, only to discover that I overlooked reviewing the flash at the top of the list. MoreLIkeBlue.

Every so often there comes a flash video that changes the way I think about flash design. The last for me was Bonus Stage (which I'm not sure if you're familiar with), it inspired me and the style of design and humor shows up in my work.

If feel the same about this... it just makes me want to scrap what I was doing and try to see the world from its creative perspective, and try to match it in my own work.

The Artwork is just beautiful. The humor is broken into a skit style of comedy, which is executed in a way no other has attempted. The music and atmosphere are also stellar, especially the opening sequence.

There is one small thing that bothered me though. At one point, when they are in the elevator, the girl's shirt is backwards for one shot. It's an easy mistake to make, one which I have made, yet no one's called me on. I just had to tell you cause I'm not sure anyone else had pointed it out.

Anyhow, it's just wonderful, the sequels thus far are great too, but this is the one that define as groundbreaking.

Thanks,
Mike

Gobi responds:

over a year later, Im responding to some reviews. The freezepop shirt thing was on purpose..not sure w hy I did it, but I figured any detail I could add would count for something. Thanks for the great review, it reminds me I have an unnatural support here at ng.

Never wrestle in the mud with a pig. You'll get filthy and the pig will enjoy it.
